Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library
Scavenger Hunt

As you tour the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library, take a look at the exhibits here in the building and try to answer some of the questions on the next page. Begin in the East Rotunda, the easternmost section of the building. Notice the iron gates leading into the Holden Reading Room. The gates were designed to match the gates at the other end of the room, which once stood in the original Library. Stand in the center of the rotunda and look around you. The architects designed the building with a southwestern theme in mind, and stayed true to the Spanish Renaissance depicted in other buildings on campus. The Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library serves as both a research center and showplace for exhibits highlighting a variety of collections.
