FR043 Calf Roping Photograph Collection, 1925-1975 70 negatives.
Includes various images of riders roping calves.

FR044 Callaghan Ranch Photograph Collection, 1925-1975 55 prints, 400 negatives, and 1 glass plate negative.
Includes chuckwagon scenes, interiors and exteriors of buildings, Hereford cattle, goats, a man cooking, a citrus tree, cattle trucks,the ranch headquarters, barbed wire fencing, a river, an automobile, and a sheep herder standing near prickly pear cactus. The holdings of the Callaghan Land and Pastoral Company of Encinal, Texas, in 1943 consisted of 250,000 acres, making it one of the largest ranches in South Texas. Horse breeding was a major part of the ranch, with the brand, a curvatte or necktie, placed on the on the left thigh, which shortly before 1943 was moved to placement on the left jaw. A particular favorite of Frank Reeves, his images were used to document the ranch in Paul I. Wellman's "The Callaghan: Yesterday and Today" book.

FR046 Campbell, Lee, Ranch Photograph Collection, 1966 6 prints.
Includes images of cattle in pens, people, and aerial photo. Lee Campbell had two ranch locations, one in Comanche County, Texas, and another five miles southwest of of Dublin, Texas.

FR047 Campbell Ranch Company Photograph Collection, 1958 Article only, no prints or negatives.
Started in 1951, it's headquarters was in Lampasas, Texas. There were three original partners, Henry V. Campbell, Mrs. Amy Weichsel Campbell, and Cal Schmidt. The company had an unusual lease agreement whereby the rate of pay each year was based upon the selling price of the calves the fall before.

FR048 Cantey, S.B., Estate Ranch Photograph Collection, 1943-1948 29 prints, 197 negatives.
Includes various images of Grady Blue and his famous cutting horse, Snooks. The S. B. Cantey Estate Ranch was located in Gordon, Texas. It's manager, Grady Blue, and his cutting horse, Snooks, became famous when they won the championship at the Texas Cowboy Reunion. Blue later sold Snooks in August 1943 for the largest price ever paid for a cutting horse.

Includes various images of different types of cattle in pastures, in pens, by trees, and by lakes.

FR051 Catto Gage Ranch Photograph Collection, 1925-1975 26 prints, 28 negatives.
Includes various images of Hereford cattle in pasture and near vehicles and house, a sign listing pedigreed cattle, cooks tending grill and food, people standing near fire and in line, food on grill, men tending branding irons, and biscuits in dutch oven.

FR052 Cauble Ranch Photograph Collection, 1965 14 prints, 411 negatives.
Includes images of Rex Cauble and his famous cutting horse, Cutter Bill, a cattle auction, people, and Cauble and Byron Matthews in pasture with horses. The Rex Cauble Ranch near Denton, Texas, was famous for its pedigreed and prize winning Quarter Horses, including Sutter Bill and Cutter Bill.

Includes image of a painting of the horse, Joker B. Owned by Carl Miles of Abilene, Texas, the Cee Bar Ranches had two locations, one near Celina, Texas, and another northeast of Stephenville, Texas.

FR054 Chaparrosa Ranch Photograph Collection, 1925-1975 3 prints, 3 negatives.
Images are of the ranch owner, B. K. Johnson and ranch manager, Jack Youngblood. Owned by B.K. Johnson, the ranch was located between La Pryor and Eagle Pass. The Spanish/Mexican formando was performed daily here, so that within minutes horses were ready for work. Texas was the only place in the U.S. that performed the formando.

Includes images of Hereford cattle grazing and in pens, people by house, house, two girls on horseback, and Mrs. Chapman feeding cattle. Run by Mrs. Barney Chapman and her two sons, the Chapman Ranch comprised of about 2, 217 acres and was located a few miles northeast of Valley Mills, Texas.

Includes images of Hereford cattle roaming in pasture. The ranch was located in Medina, Texas and owned by Mike R. Robinson.

Includes images of various cities, towns, and places visited by Frank Reeves. There are numerous images of landscapes, buildings, plaques and signs, people, and scenery.

FR060 Clear Brook Farm Photograph Collection,1952 1 print, 14 negatives.
Includes images of Z. L. Koonce with shorthorn cattle, Koonce with tractor, cattle grazing, sprinkler system, house, and Mrs. Koonce in kitchen. Clear Brook Farm near Desdemona, Texas, was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Z. L. Koonce, comprised of about 334 acres, and raised Shorthorn cattle.

Includes images of cattle grazing, gate entrance to the ranch,house, and people. Near Navasota, Texas, the G. B. Coleman Ranch raised Polled Hereford cattle.

Includes various images of Santa Gertrudis cattle, people attending a cattle auction or sale, cars and trucks parked by tents, and buses. Located in Walnut Springs, the El Colina Ranch was owned jointly with Winrock Farms.

FR068 Cowboy Christmas Ball Photograph Collection, 1938 12 negatives.
Includes images of people dancing at the ball. An annual event in Anson, Texas, it was fashioned on a famous 1885 dance in Anson described in Larry Chittenden's poem, "The Cowboy's Christmas Ball."

Includes images of the ranch sign, people posing, child with bull,and cattle in pen. The 26-section ranch near Winston, New Mexico, was owned by Jay Cox and raised Hereford Cattle.

FR070 Cross Diamond Ranch Photograph Collection, 1956 1 negative.
Includes image of Hereford cattle in pens. The ranch near Raton, New Mexico, raised Hereford cattle which was sent annually to the cornbelt to the Dilman Wilson feedlot.

FR072 Cutting Horses Photograph Collection, 1925-1975 215 prints, 449 negatives.
Includes various images of cutting horses and calves, many at rodeos. Several are images of famous cutting horses and their riders. The role of a cutting horse was to maneuver an animal out of a herd after it had been selected by the rider, without unduly disturbing the other animals in the herd. A cutting horse was appreciated for his skill, not his looks or bloodline, and top cutting horses were often saved for this particular work and not used on long hard rides.
