Barbara Barton:

Barbara Barton's
latest book, "Stagecoach Lines & Freighters of
West Texas," tells about the many small, as well
as large, stage lines that crisscrossed West
Texas until 1910. Problems with outlaws,
cantankerous mules, and swollen streams added to
the challenges of the driver. Barton also
included the freighter who was the precursor of
the trucking industry seen today. This 209 page
book includes about 50 pictures and
illustrations as well as endnotes and index.
