Photograph Reproduction Policies
Materials to be duplicated photographically are sent to the Texas Tech
University Health Sciences Center Photography Lab for reproduction. The
usual turnaround time for orders is 15 working days from the time the
materials are taken to the photography lab. Larger orders will require extra
processing time. Patrons must complete either a "Photograph Use Agreement"
form or an "Exemption From Use Fee" form before the order is sent for
processing. Patrons will be notified by a staff member when their order is
ready to be picked up.
A use fee of $20 per image will be charged for photographs that will be
used in a for-profit activity. The fee will be waived for students and
scholarly researchers engaged in a not-for-profit activity. The use fee is
for a "one-time use only" of the photograph and is in addition to the cost
of duplication. The patron assumes full responsibility for conforming to
copyright laws.
A $2.00 charge will be added to the price of each photograph when a copy
negative must be made. Copy negatives are required for all prints
made from books and other printed material. Copy negatives are retained by
the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library.
Prepayment may be required for orders totaling more than $50.00.
Charges for services are listed below. Texas state tax (8.25%) is added
to each order. Postage/shipping costs will be added to mailed orders.
