Reference Files

The Southwest Collection Reference Files contain over 18,000 folders of information about West Texas (Lubbock and the South Plains in particular), Texas Tech, and the Southwestern United States in general (Arizona, New Mexico, etc...). The files cover topics such as ranching, agriculture, oil, individual towns and counties in Texas, and a wide assortment of other subjects.

Materials in the files include newspaper clippings, brochures, programs, tourist/travel information, biographies, inventories to Southwest Collection manuscript collections, oral history abstracts, and cross-references to related topics.

The Reference Department staff will make photocopies of Reference File materials for patrons at a cost of $.20 per page plus Texas State Tax. Mail orders have a $5.00 minimum charge. Thank you!
